What is SDA?

SDA stands for Specialist Disability Accommodation and refers to housing specifically designed for people with extreme functional impairment or complex support needs, who receive funding from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and have SDA in their NDIS plan.  To be certified as SDA, the dwellings must comply with SDA design standards,  which includes a range of accessibility and safety features to help residents live more independently and allow supports to be delivered better or more safely. Detailed information about SDA can be found on the NDIS website  –  https://www.ndis.gov.au/providers/housing-and-living-supports-and-services/specialist-disability-accommodation
